There are, of course, several ways to achieve the effect. but This method is by no means difficult. it would be great tutorial for newbies.

I'm sorry to ask stupid question but what do you mean by precomposing? And also after you make Number of Echos 125, you say to render it... how do I do it? You didn't do anything but file had saved for you and worked. For me there is just a text

all you have to do is go to files menu then choose export and select your video format (avi or whatever). that's all.

Get hold of Sound Forge. Record your self into a mic trying to mimic the whoosh sound yourself. Lower the pitch and experiment with the Reverb setting in Sound Forge

i don't have the cc radial blur or any of that thing i need (3d layer)I have after effects cs3 professional, do i need something different?

You can use any blur you want... since making this tutorial I actually found that DIRECTIONAL BLUR works just as good... maybe even better. The only purpose of the blur is to blend the lines between each echo copy and give it a smooth surface. Just experiment and find the right one for your situation. Hope that helps!

check the adobe installation disk. They should be on the disk... assuming we are talking about one of the newer after effects editions (I use CS3)... on a side note... you don't HAVE to use CC radial... try using DIRECTIONAL BLUR... I achieved some nice effects with that. Just experiment and have fun!
